How to get body wave curls at home

We just can’t seem to get over beach waves or other wavy hair alternatives. That is because this effortless style looks flattering on practically everyone, whether it is short, mid-length, or long hair. However, it is no easy feat to get the perfect waves that have body and volume at the same time.

When we talk about body wave curls, you need to add hair extensions to your hair for that extra body in your otherwise flat hair. The next step is to curl them with a curling wand, and voila, there you have it, the perfect body wave curls. Here are a few steps you need to follow.

Things you need

The first step is getting your equipment and accessories ready before you start curling your hair. You will need

· Hair extensions (whatever length you prefer)

· A curling wand or tong

· Heat-protecting serum or spray

· A soft hairbrush

· Some hair clips

· Hair setting spray

Usually, women make the mistake of curling or straightening their hair without applying a heat-protecting spray on their natural hair. However, before starting the curling process, make sure you use a heat protectant, especially on your hair extensions. Remember, proper haircare goes a long way. Heat can damage your natural hair as well as your hair extensions, so beware.

Here’s what you need to do

  1. Start by clipping on your hair extensions.

  2. Then apply the heat-protecting serum or spray all over your hair, brush through to spread the product evenly.

  3. Once you are done, take separate the top section of your hair with the help of a clip. That is because you will start from the bottom, working up to the top.

  4. Now take a small section of hair from the bottom, spritz some hair setting spray. Start by wrapping the hair section around your hot curling wand and let it stay for 10 to 15 seconds. (If you want tighter curls, leave it for a few more seconds).

  5. Make sure that you allow your curls to cool down.

  6. Repeat the process with the rest of your hair until you reach the section on top.

  7. Remember to curl the front sections of your hair away from your face. Not only will your curls be out of your face, but will also work perfectly to frame your face.

  8. After you are done with the entire thing, apply hair spray all from a distance. You don’t want to make your hair super hard and dull.

  9. The most crucial step is to gently brush your hair through to achieve gorgeous body waves. And you are done.

Though it takes a bit of practice to get the desired look, following these steps will definitely give you those big, bouncy body waves. You can always go to a professional hairstylist if you can’t seem to achieve the look at home.
